Jimmy’s classic American food makes this one of our top choices for Santa Monica dog-friendly restaurants. With its comfortable booths, homey meals, and an address close to the pier, it’s a great place to enjoy a good craft beer, and the roomy patio makes it a great place to hang with your dog, too. It’s open most days from 11:00 AM-9:00 PM, 10:00 PM on weekends.
The Lobster
Who doesn’t love The Lobster? This iconic seafood restaurant overlooking the Pacific ocean at 1602 Ocean Drive offers incredible food, and an unbeatable view from 11:30-10:00 PM.
Benny’s Tacos and Rotisserie Chicken
We can promise you, you’ll dog will love you if you bring him here. Rotisserie chicken, um, yes! Benny’s is also the perfect place to go to celebrate #tacotuesday with your pooch. The Santa Monica location is at 915 Wilshire Blvd. and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it’s also within walking distance to the beach.
True Food Kitchen
For those of us who really need to know what’s in our food, True Foods offers a menu of anti-inflammatory vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. With its unique take on chili, curry, and an amazing hummus, there’s something for everyone, plus room on the patio for man’s best friend!
Urth Caffe
A favorite stop with everything from organic coffee and the best loose-leaf teas, great salads, pasta dishes, and an amazing roasted turkey panini, Urth Caffe is a great choice for a quick bite. They’re up bright and early at 6:00 AM every day, so you can always get that cup of coffee or tea when you really need it! Be aware, the patio is on the small side, so if your dog is small, it’s welcome, otherwise, Urth may not be the best fit for you.
1212 Santa Monica
1212 Santa Monica has a unique California Cuisine menu, incredible specialty cocktails, and a private patio that’s completely dog-friendly. It’s great for just the two of you, and it’s even got a group menu package, for getting friends and co-workers together.
The Courtyard Kitchen
Located at 1211 Montana Ave, the Courtyard Kitchen offers New American fare at great prices and a relaxed atmosphere that includes a great wine bar, and outdoor seating so you can enjoy a great meal with your pet. Open from 8AM-9PM.
Cha Cha Chicken
Delicious Caribbean flavors at a price that can’t be beaten, with patio seating that welcomes pets. Great for early lunch to late dinners, it stays open most nights from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Lunetta All Day
Located at 2420 Pico Boulevard, Lunetta serves unique menus for every meal, and offer roomy patio seating for watching the crowd, or enjoying a classic cocktail with your pup! With their unique menu for all seasons, Lunetta is a great treat for a special occasion, or just for taking a daily stroll with Fido!.
Flower Child
Flower Child is on a mission for healthy, flavorful food. They’ve got food for the whole family, vegan, gluten-free, or, as their website says, “just hungry.” Operating from 9-9 at 1332 2nd St, they’ve got a wide selection of vegan delights for the whole family, and their Santa Monica location offers buffet-style options and a great patio, perfect for including the family pet on the fun.
Stout Burgers and Beers
With their unique take on classic American diner food, Stout is a huge hit for locals and tourists. Everybody’s amazed by that impossible burger, and the morning after is sure to make your day! The Santa Monica location is right on the boulevard, and Stout stays open late, from 11:30-12 on weekdays and till 2:00 AM on weekends, with great happy hour deals on food and lagers.
